Snow Day

As you all know, Baton Rouge and most of Louisiana had a very rare snow day recently. Rhett came home from school the day before, talking about how it was going to snow. I was pretty worried that it wouldn't happen and he'd be disappointed, but I should not have bothered worrying. We woke up early to a snow-covered yard and snow still falling. Here is Rhett's reaction to the idea of snow.
Here is Rhett's reaction to the reality of snow. He refused to get in it and cried when David threw a small snowball onto the porch.

Lucie didn't seem to mind though...
...so eventually Rhett went out into the great white snow drift. I couldn't believe how hard it was snowing!!

David and Rhett built a snow man in the neighbor's yard (they had better snow than us because of our trees). Anna Camille was taking a nap at the time, and she was quite put off to wake up to a man-like figure in the yard. VERY distrustful!
This was also the day that the nu-nu went away. I had it on my finger and she tried to pull it off. When she did, it inverted and became flat, more or less. So, there was nothing to suck. She eventually got mad and attacked me because it was my fault, but then threw it behind the Christmas tree. I broke out her book, "Pacifiers Are Not Forever" (which I'd intended to save until Christmas) and read it to her several times. She napped without it and has been without it almost ever since!
We went to play at Jeannie and Papa's house. Don't ask what she is wearing...

And built another snow man.
This one Anna Camille warmed up to completely. I guess it was because she was part of his construction. Anyway, when we went to leave, she had to give him a kiss.
The snow was melting and the snowman had a definite lean to him, so we used the supports from one of Clay's roofing signs to prop him up. Then he looked like R2D2. Ever since then when Rhett draws a snowman, he draws him with his little supports!!
