Rhett's swim team graduation

Last summer Rhett took swim lessons at Crawfish Acquatics for several different two-week sessions. Last week he finished up his spring refresher lessons. On the last day of the lessons, the parents are invited to sit and watch the kids swim. It was great! Rhett's class was the only one that "dove" off of the blocks, which I guess means that he is a big boy.

His teacher said that he did a great job and just needs to gain the strength to make "big arms" consistently and to get his head out of the water to breathe. Practice, practice, practice!!

Look how high that leg is out of the water!! Proper form aside, I'd be exhausted if I kicked that high. Hmmm...maybe that is why he was falling asleep so early during those two weeks!

Getting ready to go!
Back on the wall, finishing up his turn.
Serious!!! Getting ready to take to the block!
Ready, set, go!
Laughing with his friends
He spotted me in the crowd!!
Waiting his turn, smug expression and all.
Ready to take the block again. Is that a "Coot" hand there or what?!
Getting ready to "dive!"
I spared the photo of him "diving" into the pool. David said it looks like someone shot a flamingo in mid-air.

Swimming back to the wall

Good times!!!

"Get his head out of the water to breathe."

-- That one seems like an important skill to learn.

Great actions -- Love them!
