Easter Egg Hunt and Family Day at UUMP

We have been so blessed with the kids' school, United University Methodist Preschool on LSU's campus. I just cannot say enough wonderful things about the program, the director, and all the staff. They ROCK. Every year they have an Easter Egg Hunt and Family Day, and let me tell you---they go all out. Everyone picnics on the playground, preceeded by the easter egg hunt, which is segregated by age groups so that everything is fair. At the picnic there is an Easter Hat contest and lots of other special things---this year, a little train, a parade, face painting, a merry-go-round, bubble machine, lots of balloons, a school bus for the kids to sit on and sing "Wheels on the Bus," and a real pony to ride. The love that the staff members display towards our children is unbelievable and we have been so lucky to have the kids there. I LOVE it!

Here is Rhett at the beginning of the day, pleased as punch because Anna Camille joined him in his classroom.

Before the hunt, they went outside and sang some Easter songs while everyone got situated. Rhett, of course, was the only little ham who was standing up and dancing to the lyrics, which involved something about a bunny with his fluff on the "wrong end" or something to that effect. Rhett kept turning around and shaking his bottom and ALL of the parents were laughing at him. But to his credit, he was just following the motions that they apparently do to the song...only he was the ONLY one doing them!!

This is Ms. Sally. She is WONDERFUL!!! She used to be one of Rhett's teachers, but went to the baby class when they opened it. So now she is Lucie's wonderful teacher! I LOVE Ms. Sally. She is so wonderful with the babies and every time I open the door in the afternoons, she and Lucie are smack dab in the middle of doing something---dancing, reading books, playing with toys---something. I swear, the only time I've found that child idle is when she is dead asleep. Ms. Sally aslo loves Anna Camille and held her and danced with her for a loooooong time at the picnic!

AC, post-candy consumption.
AC "deep in thought." She was sitting on the curb, waiting for her classmates to get off of the train ride. (Which she refused to get on.)
